From this day … 2.19.10

Though I am posting these today, they were actually taken yesterday at our neighborhood park. I had been trying to get Jacob to go outside all afternoon – it was such a beautiful day! – but he was too put out over not getting to accompany Lizzie on her play-date. After Abby awoke from her nap, we headed over to retrieve Lizzie, who begged to be able to stay a little longer. So I told her we’d head over to the store and pick her up on our way home half an hour later. When we returned she had taken off to the park. Hmmm … luckily, her friend’s dad agreed to bring her home when they returned. But the park sounded like a great idea, so we dropped off the frozen food at home and headed over to our park, which is just around the corner from us. Jacob, rather than running off to entertain himself, spent most of his time pushing Abby on the swing or taking her for rides down the slide, thoroughly enjoying being a big brother. We couldn’t stay long, but we were able to enjoy the sun and spend some energy in the fresh air … and we need it right now – the whole house smells like paint. But I’m not complaining – the work is getting done. Perhaps some pictures of that later this weekend.
